11.3.)
The following two questions are similar but not the same:
(a.) A box of 40 ears of corn from Sunshine Farms has four ears with at least one worm beneath the husk. If Annie randomly chooses eight of these ears of corn for dinner, what is the probability
that there are at least six ears without worms?
(b.) It is known that 10% of ears of corn from Sunshine Farms have at least one worm beneath the husk. If Annie randomly chooses eight of these ears of corn for dinner, what is the probability
that there are at least six ears without worms?
11.5.)
A box of parts from Manufacturer A contains 10 defective parts and 10 good parts. A box from Manufacturer B also contains 20 parts, only 2 of which are defective. Suppose you choose a box at random, and choose 3 parts without replacement. If at least 2 of the 3 are defective, what is the probability that the box was from Manufacturer A?
Note: The questions that I need assistance with are the 11.3 and 11.5. If it's not too much to ask, could you explain how you got to your solutions.
I'm aware I'm asking a lot in one post and if it's possible that you can answer all my questions that would be great. However, if that's not possible I asked that you answer them to the best of your capabilities.
Thank You!
