1. Solve the following design problem. Design a control circuit that will simulate a traffic signal with a pedestrian crosswalk. The circuit should be designed so that a pushbutton switch can be pressed to cause the traffic light to immediately turn red and stay red for 20 seconds. This will allow the pedestrians time to safely cross the intersection. After 20 seconds, the light should change back to green.

Step 1
First, we need a pushbutton switch to activate the pedestrian signal. This can be a simple momentary pushbutton switch that sends a signal to the control circuit when pressed. Show more…

Design a logic circuit for a simple automobile door and seat belt buzzer system. Assume that sensors are available to provide digital signals representing the door and seat belt states. Signal A is from the door, where high implies the door is closed. Signal B is from the seat belt, where high implies the seat belt is fastened. Signal C indicates whether the ignition switch is turned on. Your circuit should output a signal X that can be used to turn a buzzer on or off, where high implies on. The buzzer should be on if the ignition is on and if the door is open or the seat belt is not fastened. Draw your logic circuit and construct a complete truth table.

Car Safety Alarm Design Design a car safety alarm considering four inputs: - Door closed (D) - Key in (K) - Seat pressure (S) - Seat belt closed (B) The alarm (A) should sound if: - The key is in and the door is not closed, or - The door is closed and the key is in and the driver is in the seat and the seat belt is not closed. Using the Logic Design procedure we saw in the lab, implement the electronic circuit for this system. EX2) From the following truth table, derive the Boolean Expression, simplify using K-Map, and draw the Logic Diagram that represents the circuit.
