2. (15 points) The bond between atoms can be approximated by imagining them being connected by an ideal spring so long as the amplitude of oscillations isn't too large. The plot shows the potential energy stored in the interaction between hydrogen and chlorine in HCl. Because the chlorine atom is so much heavier than the hydrogen atom, we treat the chlorine as fixed and consider the hydrogen vibrating back and forth. Use the graph to estimate the period of the hydrogen atom's vibrational motion. You can find a better image of the graph in the textbook if you need.
