14-in-treating-lung-cancer-using-chemotherapy-procedure-two-strong-chem-ical-drugs-are-applied-named-by-chemotherapy-a-and-chemotherapy-b-in-the-following-study-the-interest-is-on-investigating-whethe

14. In treating lung cancer using “chemotherapy” procedure, two strong chemical drugs are applied, named by “Chemotherapy A” and “Chemotherapy B”. In the following study, the interest is on investigating whether both chemotherapy procedures/drugs lengthened the care span for all patients with lung cancer. Two groups of patients (10 each) were experimented with both drugs (A and B), where the toxic drug was given in a dose amount sufficient to kill cancerous cells. The survival times for all patients (in years), after completeing the treatment program, are shown in the following table. Chemotherapy (A): 10,11,10,15,21,22,8,9,12,16 Chemotherapy (B): 18,19,17,17,20,15,14,13,12,19 Do the data provide sufficient evidence to indicate that patients with lung cancer receiving chemotherapies A and B have different survival times?? Use WRS (Wilcoxon Rank Sum Test) with α = 05, then the test–statistic value and the decision are: a)1.08 and don’t reject H0. b)1.08 and reject H0. c)1.66 and don’t reject H0. d)1.66 and reject H0. 15. In question 14, the test statistic parameters μR and σR are, respectively: a)83, 127 b)13.23, 105 c)127, 83 d)105, 13.23
