4. Multi-body dynamics and friction
Mass A (4 kg) is placed on top of mass B (12 kg) that is pulled along a frictionless table with a force of 5.6 N. Mass A stays on top of mass B without sliding off (i.e. there is friction between the blocks).
a. Draw a separate free body diagram (FBD) for each of the masses. Then draw an FBD for the whole system. Submit as part of your handwork.
b. What is the acceleration of the blocks (in m/s^2)?
c. What is the minimum coefficient of static friction to keep mass A from sliding off?
Type the final numerical answers below. Submit all other work as handwork.
