For an adiabatic process, the work done is given by:
$W = \frac{P_2V_2 - P_1V_1}{1-\gamma} = \frac{nRT_2 - nRT_1}{1-\gamma} = \frac{nR(T_2 - T_1)}{1-\gamma}$
where $n$ is the number of moles, $R$ is the ideal gas constant, and $\gamma$ is the adiabatic index.
