'25 . A temperature in kelvins is always numerically larger than the same temperature in degrees Celsius because the temperature in kelvins always equals temperature in degrees Celsius plus 273 (2) the temperature in degrees Celsius always equals a temperature in kelvin plus 273 (3) the temperature in kelvins always equals a temperature in degrees Celsius minus 273 (4) the zero point in the kelvins scale is higher than the zero point in the Celsius scale'

Which statement is NOT correct about the temperature scales: Fahrenheit, Celsius and Kelvin? Absolute zero in Celsius is -473.15 °C. A Fahrenheit degree is smaller - holds less heat, than a Celsius degree A temperature on the Kelvin scale can never have values less than zero. A Celsius degree and a Kelvin unit are the same size. The boiling point of water is a larger number in °F than in °C.

In most cases, it is crucial that the temperature is measured in kelvin. However, sometimes you can just as well use the Celsius scale, e.g., when considering heat exchange through conduction between different substances. What distinguishes those cases? Since 1 C° = 1 K. Since temperature differences are always the same, regardless of what scale you use. Since 1 C° = 1 K and those problems involve temperature differences only. You can never substitute Celsius degrees for kelvin.
