A laser of 632.8 nm (red) is incident on a rectangular glass
container filled with water. Assume the glass is thin enough that
we ignore the refraction it causes and only focus on the water. If
the water has some impurities such that its index of refraction is
1.4, a) calculate the wavelength of the light inside the water, b)
what color in the visible E&M part of the spectrum is this
found, and c) if you view this experiment by standing over the
table and looking at the water from above, the laser light still
appears red. Why?
