Using an outline similar to the one below, explain why children may have difficulty adjusting to their parents' divorce.
Individual Interaction
Personal Relationships
Which is true about the effect of divorce on children? Children adjust to continued conflict over time to where they expect it and it has little effect. When high levels of family conflict and resolved by a divorce, children's functioning often improves. Behavioral deterioration, social problems, and cognitive problems in children are inevitable after parents' divorce. How parents interact with each other has little impact on children's behavior.
