Identifying evolved psychological mechanisms is essential for the identification of its functional physiological characteristics. Componential parameters and utility are evolved psychological mechanisms that contribute to successful solutions in evolutionary processes. Successful solutions may or may not involve the use of evolved psychological mechanisms. Three periods associated with environments of evolutionary adaptiveness are unique and specific to time and place. Adaptation and knowledge about evolved social psychological adaptations provide evidence that genes play the most important role in shaping behavior. This suggests that humans are different from other species. The concept of change targeted behavior suggests that it is the smallest discrete unit that is inherited by offspring without being broken.
