According to Don Marquis in "Why Abortion is Immoral," he believes that if we reevaluate all the things wrong with the murder of a born, living person like you or me, we can see why abortion is wrong. Namely, if we consider not just the value we give to our past and present life, but also the value of our future life, that is a fuller explanation as to why murder is wrong.
Even though a fetus is not developed enough to value their life presently, they will value their life in the future. Abortion cuts short that unborn person's future value of life just like murder cuts short the born person's future value of life.
Consequently, abortion should not be viewed morally different than murder. Except for extreme instances (fatal medical complications), abortion is murder; abortion is wrong.
