00:01 Okay, so one learning theory that you could use to enhance student engagement understanding in a lesson would be behaviorism.
00:17 Okay, and remember that behaviorism is focused on stimulus and response.
00:27 So it's not focused on the internal processing, right? so behaviorism is focused on the input and the output.
00:35 All right? okay, and the goal of behaviorist is to learn the relationship between some kind of action and a reward or a punishment.
00:52 And depending on whether it's a reward or a punishment, you should see an increase or a decrease in that behavior.
01:00 So what can we learn from behaviorism and apply it to the lesson? well, we could, for example, emphasize quick feedback, right? so we know from behaviorism that there has to be a very short amount of time between the action of the organism and the reward or the punishment.
01:25 Otherwise, there's no association learned.
01:30 And so quick feedback would be something that would help students associate the outcomes of this feedback with whatever work they were producing.
01:42 So for example, this could take the form of clicker usage.
