Peers post: Social Media negatively impacts psychological well-being because from the beginning, it's always caused self esteem issues in people and has also opened the door for cyber bullying which leads to depression, anxiety, and a lot of cases suicide. while there are some positive sides of social media, the negative affects stand tall. Teenagers tend to feel inadequate due to comparing themselves to peers and how the look or what they may or may not have. Adults scroll and see others living the life they wish they had and in some cases, the brain doesn't fully process that on social media everything is a front or an act for likes and views which leads to depression and feeling like that person isn't doing good enough. In your responses to your peers, consider how well they justified their positions, making use of available resources. Consider the following questions in your response posts: 1.) Did they support their position convincingly using credible resources? 2.) Which of their points makes the most sense to you, even if you made a case for the opposing viewpoint? 3.) Post an article, video, or visual to reinforce a peer's idea or challenge them to see their point from a different perspective.

Peers post: Social media negatively impacts because it makes people feel inadequate about their achievements, social standings and appearance comparing themselves to others online, leading to low self-worth. Social media platforms can facilitate harassment and bullying leading to psychological distress. FOMO also known as fear of missing out exacerbates anxiety and dissatisfaction in one's own life. Paradoxically leads to feelings of loneliness and isolation although appearing to connect with other people its not making real-world social connections leads to increased symptoms of low self-esteem anxiety and depression especially in people who are susceptible to these conditions already. Social media undermines emotional intelligence by causing users to feel jealous and angry when comparing themselves to others online.
