before I start this below are equations that use the variable X. Where X is a real number, answer the following. For each equation, complete the table to find the coordinates of three points. You can take any value of X. So I always use 01 and two low numbers so graph each equation. So first I'm going to fill in this table. So for the first one I'm going to use a different color so I'll do red. So if X. So they're essentially going to be the same. So I get zero comma 01 comma one and two comma two. And I'm going to plot this So 001122. And then if I go all the way through the graph and then I will draw try to draw a nice of a straight line as I possibly can. It's as straight as I can get it to go. Okay next color I will use blue. So I would do zero two in four. So I was 00. Um oh pair 00 one comma two and two comma four. So one comma two and two comma four. So if you notice my pattern here. Mhm. I'm gonna go this way. Yes. Okay So now the next one I'm going to do is magenta. So I would have zero which is zero comma zero three which is 1:03 and then six which is 2:06. Okay 369 three six nine. And then my last one um I will do yellow. So I have 0004. Then I have four, one comma four. And then I have eight Which is two comma eight. So 00 one comma four, eight and then four and then eight mm hmm, mm hmm. All right. All right. Let me just change my pen back to black. Okay. The equations can be described by the equation. Y equals A. X. Give the values of A. So A. Would be one for this 12 for this 13 for this one essentially. It's just asking what the slope is. How does the value of a affect the graph? It affects the slope, the slope of the graph. So the higher the number, the steeper the slope. This is a middle school math teacher signing out.

Absolute Value - Example 1

In mathematics, the absolute value or modulus |x| of a real number x is its numerical value without regard to its sign. The absolute value of a number may be thought of as its distance from zero along a number line; this interpretation is analogous to the distance function assigned to a real number in the real number system. For example, the absolute value of ?4 is 4, and the absolute value of 4 is 4, both without regard to sign.
