Hello, i'll be talking about the sleep cycle and the different stages of sleep.
00:20
The stages of sleep includes sleep onset and stages one, two, three, and four.
00:29
Sleep onset is the stage where one is falling asleep or the stage that occurs between being wakeful and being asleep.
00:54
After the onset stage, while one is still awake and when stage one occurs, the theta waves in one's, brain are high frequency, low amplitude waves.
01:31
As stage one becomes stage two, the theta waves then slow down in frequency as they become higher in amplitude.
02:19
During sleep, as stage two turns to stages three and four, the theta waves become delta waves.
02:32
And these delta waves in one's brain are low frequency waves.
02:38
The sleep stages three and four are often referred to as delta sleep or slow wave sleep.
03:10
After spending so much time in delta sleep, the delta waves then become theta waves once again, picking up in frequency and amplitude, transitioning the sleep stage from four to three to two and then back to one...
