ASU Athletics is in need of an inventory system for keeping track of athletics equipment, which will allow equipment managers to check in and check out equipment to student athletes. Equipment can be a variety of items, e.g., uniforms, tracking sensors, gear (bats, balls, etc.) for different sports (look up Maverick athletics (omavs.com) for a list of sports). The inventory must have information about each athlete, e.g., sport, jersey number, size of shoes, jerseys, etc. There are also multiple versions of uniforms (home and away jerseys and shorts, warmups, etc.) that need to be tracked. When inventory falls below a certain level (because socks and jerseys get ripped, hockey sticks get broken, etc.), they need to be reordered. For audit purposes, all checkouts and check-ins should be recorded, including the equipment involved, the athlete, the equipment manager, and the date.
