Calculate the yield of the reaction if 0.76 g of benzoic acid were formed. (Note: density of benzyl alcohol = 1.046 g/mL and quote the yield to the nearest whole number). The volume of benzyl alcohol is 1 mL. 5C6H5CH2OH + 4KMnO4 + 6H2SO4 -> 5C6H5COOH + 2K2SO4 + 4MnSO4 + 11H2O

00:01 Here in this question we need to find out the theoretical yield and percentage of the compound which is to be given in this reaction.
00:07 So first we need to find the molecular weight of benzophenone and benzitrol.
00:19 Benzophenone molecular weight is 182 gram per mole and for benzitrol and benzitrol its molecular weight is 184 gram per mole.
00:33 Now we can calculate the number of moles of benzophenone used in this reaction and for that we can just use the number of mass and this molecular mass and number of moles of benzitrol.
00:45 So we can just use the number of moles of benzophenone which is equal to 0 .98900 divided by 182 which is equal to 0 .00543 and this is the number of moles of benzophenone and the reaction between benzophenone and benzitrol is 1 ratio.
01:07 Then for number of moles of benzitrol which is also same as number of moles of benzophenone and this also equal to 0 .00543.
01:21 Now we can calculate the theoretical yield of benzitrol...
