This assignment is meant to help you brainstorm ideas
for your project. You will be conducting a 2x3 factorial design for
your project (i.e. 2 categorical, independent variables: 1 IV with
2 levels and 1 IV with 3 levels (the vignettes), and 1 continuous
DV.) For example, maybe I am interested in whether or not having
siblings interacts with positive, neutral, or negative humane
society advertisements to predict willingness to donate to a humane
society. In this case, my 2-level independent variable would be pet
ownership, and would include (1) have a pet and (2) don’t have a
pet. My 3-level independent variable would be advertisement type,
and would include (1) positive ad, (2) negative ad, and (3) neutral
ad. The continuous DV would be the likeliness to donate to the
humane society.
