Can you please explain how do we know if a line code has no DC component? In this example, Manchester line code is used and has no DC component. How and why is that?
The steps involving finding PSD of a line code include:
1. Determine the pulse of the code.
2. Check if there is a DC component in the code. This is because the derivations of PSD for signals with and without DC component are different (see notes).
3. Find the energy spectrum density (ESD) of the pulses. ESD is calculated from the Fourier transform of the pulses.
4. Divide ESD by the pulse duration to obtain PSD.

Question 1: For the Manchester line code, each transmitted pulse belongs to one of the following types:
- T/2
- T/2
- LTV2
Pulse for 0: Po(c)
Pulse for 1: Pi(t)
Thus, there is no DC component in the Manchester line code. Next, we need to find A Pot (1).
