Compared with dispersive method, the Fourier-transform technique can give great benefit for IR absorption spectrometry, but not much for UV-Vis absorption spectrometry. Select from below (1-3) all the causes of the difference between IR and UV-Vis:
(1) The intensity of IR light sources is much lower than that of UV-Vis;
(2) The response of IR detectors is much worse than that of UV-Vis;
(3) The monochromator slit in dispersive instrument for IR needs to be very wide, in the range of IR peak width, while, in UV-Vis, the slit is much narrower than peak width;
