This bus management and tracking system comprises four wirelessly interconnected sections. These include the bus module, terminal module, data processing and storage section, and the end user module. The bus and terminal modules together constitute a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system. An RFID system incorporates a transponder or a tag which is located on the object to be identified, and a transceiver or a reader.
In the upcoming sections, we describe the different components of the bus tracking system, as sketched above.
We have a Bus module: an RFID tag, a terminal module: an RFID reader, a data processing and storage unit: data regarding expected arrival time and distance between coterminous stops stored in the cloud server in the form of status logs, and end user module: a website, built to represent the data regarding arrival time and registration number of buses stored in the status log, displays it in a form easily understood by passengers.
