Hi everybody.
00:01
So today we're going to be going through problem number eight in chapter nine, thinking language and intelligence.
00:06
And we're going to be talking a little bit about crystallized versus fluid intelligence.
00:09
So we'll start off with crystallized intelligence.
00:13
So crystallize intelligence.
00:18
So crystallized intelligence is essentially our, the accumulation of all of our knowledge, our facts, and our skills that we've learned throughout life.
00:28
So i'm going to write that down here.
00:30
Knowledge, facts.
00:33
And skills, whereas fluid intelligence is more of our ability to reason and to think flexibly or to adapt our thinking patterns.
01:04
So it's important to know the difference between these two types of intelligence in order to parse through this question.
01:10
So for the example of a writer, so for example, a writer, a writer's work tends to rely more on crystallized intelligence because crystallized intelligence, like i said, is that accumulated knowledge.
01:31
And as we grow over, crystallized intelligence actually increases because we get to know more knowledge and more facts throughout our life...
