Describe the current state of social learning theory discussed in this course. In doing so, be sure to emphasize (1) the orientation and definition of theory (provide a historical foundation), (2) the factors that contribute to the theory, (3) the reasons why they the theory should affect crime, and (4) the factors that may amplify or diminish its effects on crime. Where relevant, discuss empirical evidence on the accuracy of theory’s predictions.
