DESIGN THE STUDY
You are to create your own research question based off the interest of the group. Here are a few examples of previous studies to give you ideas. Be creative in forming your research question.
• Is the ground water level lower in 2019 than it was in 2015?
• Are men better drivers than women?
• Is there a difference in the prices of books at the Bookstore compared to those online?
• Is shopping online more expensive?
• Do male college students sleep more than female college students?
1. What is your research question? State question so it can be answered using a hypothesis test.
Do male college students use TikTok more than female college students.
2. Determine if this will be a designed experiment or an observational study. Explain.
This is an observational study because I am only going to compare the use of TikTok amongst the populations
3. What population(s) are you studying?
College students
4. Identify population parameter of interest.
5. What is your experimental unit?
In other words, who or what are you collecting the data to be used for analysis from?
6. What is your response variable? Is your response variable quantitative, or categorical?
7. State and define your planned sampling method.
