1. In your opinion, how does the sense of community within a criminal street gang compare to the idea of community in more conventional settings, such as neighborhoods or social groups? Do you think the appeal of belonging to a tight-knit group influences people to join gangs despite the associated risks? 2. How do you think the responsibilities of being a gang member intersect with the role of being a parent? In your opinion, what challenges might gang-affiliated parents face in providing a safe and nurturing environment for their children, and what impact might this have on the next generation? 3. Do you believe that efforts to reform criminal street gangs are effective and should be prioritized over punitive measures? Or do you think that these groups are inherently irredeemable, and stricter law enforcement is the only solution to tackle gang-related issues?
