Explain what the amplitude, frequency, and wavelength of a wave are.
Madhur L.
A wave is a disturbance which propagates away from its source. One important property of a wave is its wavelength. The wavelength is the distance between crests or similarly, the distance over which the wave begins to repeat its structure. The graph below represents a wave traveling along a string. The horizontal axis represents the location along the string. The vertical axis represents the displacement of each piece of the string from equilibrium. 1.) What is the amplitude of this wave? 2.) What is the wavelength of this wave?
