Patients with mental disorders experience specific personality changes, Therefore, in order to ensure safe communication and being close to them from a PSW workers needs some training. They are either completely unaware of their illness or not fully aware of it, passive attitude to treatment, lack of interest in its results, often inflated self-esteem, lack of understanding or acknowledgment of the danger of one's condition to oneself and others. Those associated with the disease are unable to control their actions and emotions. Therefore, one of there querulents for PSW of mentally ill patients are the presence of such personal qualities as vigilance, patience and resourcefulness, as in the case of communication with such patients, it is necessary to be able to react correctly, thereby preventing possible bouts of aggression or seizures, and find ways to provide timely necessary assistance in accordance with the current situation. Also, with the mentally ill, as with any other patient, it is necessary to be friendly, polite and sympathetic, not just mechanically perform the necessary manipulations, but to provide moral support to the patient himself and his relatives. Often, patients with mental disorders are not able to fully self-service, including in connection with a decrease in mood and willpower. At the same time, its own untidiness often causes additional discomfort to patients, which can provoke a worsening of symptoms.
