00:01
All right.
00:04
Hello.
00:05
In this video i'm going to explain the way a dc motor works.
00:12
So i have this diagram drawn up here.
00:16
And so what this is just basically showing is that this is the magnet, the south end.
00:22
And then over here on the right side is the north end of the magnet.
00:25
And then we have a electric coil in between the magnet.
00:32
I is the current.
00:33
So this is showing the flow of current through the coil.
00:37
Coils connected to over here, which is then connected to a battery.
00:40
Because here's the positive negative end of the battery.
00:45
Let me just lay that real quick.
00:55
Perfect.
00:57
Okay, guys.
00:58
So what's happening is as this electric current is flowing through this coil, and the coil is in the magnetic field.
01:08
So, really, it would be looking with there be a bunch of arrows being drawn all over the place, representing the magnetic field.
01:18
And since this coil has an electric charge flowing through, while it's in the magnetic field, it's going to produce torque.
01:28
Okay, and that is going to cause the actual spinning motion of the dc motor.
01:33
So what would happen is it's a little bit hard to draw, so i'll have to just explain it on this left side over here...
