So the first thing to realize that solve this problem, we're going to have to use permutations and that's because, with permutations we deal with events where picking people. You can't somehow pick the same person twice. There'S no repetitions allowed and also the order in which the events occur is important. So permutations used the formula n factorial, divided by n minus r factorial to give us the number of desired outcomes where n is going to be go to the total number of people. We can pick from us 30 total people. We can pick from divided by n minus r again, where n is 30 again and r is how many people we want to pick his 12 point. So we simplify this further. This is 30 factorial divided by 30. Minus 12 is 18 divided by 18 factorial. So it's goin to be quite a large number. So i put this into my calculator and in scientific notation. This is equal to 4.14 times 10 to the 16 point, and so this is our final answer. In the total number of ways we can choose 12 people from thirt.
