Hello. I'm reading an article about prodrugs and protides, and it included this sentence:
"Among the most widely used and successful monophosphate and monophosphonate prodrug approaches is the aryloxy triester phosphoramidate prodrug technology, commonly referred to as the ProTide technology, which was pioneered by Chris McGuigan."
What are the differences between monophosphate and monophosphonate? When I google monophosphonate, I find nothing.
Hope somebody can help :) Thanks.
