Help with Geometry:
A blueprint of a room drawn on a coordinate plane, using an appropriate scale.
A page of calculations showing how you found the perimeter and area of the remodeled room.
A reflection about the strengths and weaknesses of your blueprint and how the weaknesses could be addressed.
Classifications of three polygons that were used to represent appliances or furniture in your blueprint.
Blueprint:
What are the actual measurements of your room?
What is the scale that you will use for your scale drawing so it will fit on a piece of paper?
What will the dimensions of your room be in your scale drawing? Show your work.
Calculate the perimeter and area of your scaled room. Be sure to show your work.
Use the scale to draw the outline of your room and be sure to include the scale in the corner of the drawing. You should do this on the graph paper. You can complete it electronically or by hand and submit a picture.
Find the measurements of three pieces of furniture or appliances.
Use a proportion to change the actual measurements of the furniture/appliances to the scaled measurements you will use in your drawing (see example). Be sure to show your work and record your work and results in the table above.
Add the 3 pieces of furniture to your scale drawing and label them.
Classify each piece of furniture/appliance in your room as a polygon using key terms from the unit (summary on lesson p. 2) in the table above.
