What are the three basic principles that allow an electric motor to operate?
Adi S.
What basic principle enables ALL electric generators to operate? A. A closed-loop conductor within a changing magnetic field will have an induced electromotive force. B. A current-carrying conductor placed within a magnetic field will experience a magnetic force. C. Iron is the only element that is magnetic. D. Opposite electric charges attract and like charges repel.
How does an electric generator work? Electric generators use electricity running through a split ring commutator to spin an armature which then generates an electric current. The direction of the induced current is explained by Lenz's Law. Electric generators use an electric current to generate a magnetic field. The interaction of the fixed magnet and the induced magnetic field causes an armature to spin, so the generator can do work. Electric generators use an external force to spin a coil inside a fixed magnet. According to Faraday's Law, this relative motion induces an electric current in the coil.. Electric generators use an external force to spin a current carrying coil. The moving current generates a magnetic field which interacts with the fixed magnet according to Faradays Law. This generates electrical power.
