Peers paragraph: While automation and artificial intelligence (AI) have the potential to eliminate a significant number of jobs, it’s important to remember that these technologies can also open new opportunities and even spark the creation of new industries. Critics frequently draw attention to the short-term job losses without considering the long-term advantages and potential new employment opportunities. For example, the rise of AI has increased demand for jobs that did not exist a few decades ago, such as cybersecurity professionals, data analysts, and AI specialists. Per the World Economic Forum report, it is stated that “AI is expected to create 97 million new jobs by 2025, even as it displaces 85 million jobs” (Over 97 Million Jobs Set to Be Created by AI, n.d.). This suggests that employment is positively impacted overall. Through the implementation of proactive steps like education, retraining, and supportive legislation, we may minimize dangers and optimize the advantages of AI integration by ensuring that the workforce is ready to move into these new jobs. 1.
