"What is a goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the Spring 2024 semester? Go into detail about your goal". Step 1: Type a 70-120 word response to the following question. If it helps, treat this like a freewrite at first and just focus on writing down your thoughts. Step 2: Once you have written your response, go back and check you writing based on the following suggestions: Read your draft and look at all your sentences and clauses. Does each one follow correct S+V+O structure? Read your draft a second time, do you have dependent clauses in your paragraph? Make sure you have some dependent clauses in your writing! Make sure that they are NOT standing alone. Join them to an independent clause. Read your draft a third time, are you using conjunctions to connect sentences, and do you have a comma before those conjunctions? Read your draft a fourth time, review ALL your commas (highlight your commas). Are you using commas correctly with conjunctions, after dependent clauses, to list ideas and so forth? Read your draft a fifth time, are you using a few transition words/phrases in your writing and are you using them properly? (transition or connecting words like, however, moreover, likewise, nevertheless, therefore, etc.) Read your draft a final time - look at your sentences again. Is the first letter of each sentence capitalized and are you using proper periods to end your sentences? Make any corrections in red font.
