What is the same as the average rate of change? Average rate of change is the same thing as slope, slope is just change in y over change in X. Right so really this would be if my X values are between negative two and six my X values are six minus negative to my white values would be G of six minus G of negative two. Okay Now my average three to change or again this is a synonym for slope is 2.25. What else do I know you have negative two? That's the same thing as -7. What would G. F six B. Well, I could just solve this. I have G F six minus negative seven plus seven. 6 -20 -2. Two negatives become a positive eight equals 2.25. Okay so I'm dividing by eight. I want to get GF six by itself opposite of dividing multiplied by eight to both sides. 2.25 times eight is 18. So this will cancel I'll have G of six plus seven stays equals 18 adding seven. Subtract seven from both sides G. Of six would have to be 11. In order for the average rate of change to be 2.25

In mathematics, an absolute value or modulus is the value of a number without regard to its sign. The absolute value of a real number is also called its magnitude. For example, the absolute value of five is five, but neither –5 nor 5. The absolute value of a number may be thought of as its distance from zero, as a measure of how far it is from zero on a number line. In mathematics, the absolute value (or modulus) of a real number "x" is denoted by |x|. The absolute value of a nonzero real number is greater than or equal to zero. It is also equal to the distance between the number and zero measured in the direction opposite to the negative one. The absolute value of a real number is also called its value, magnitude, or size.
In mathematics, an equation is a statement that two mathematical expressions have the same value. Solving this equation is the process of finding the value of the unknown expression when the other expression is given. An equation is an expression of equality. The unknown appears on the left and the expression on the right of the equals sign. For example, the equation 2x + 3 = 4 has the unknown x and the expression 2x + 3 on the left and the number 4 on the right.
