I got an answer to this earlier; however, it didn't take into account the percentages of 85% and 70%. The whole question working would be great, with an explanation of where to use the percentages if at all. Thanks in advance.
The turbine operates at a pressure of 8 MPa and a temperature of 480°C. The condenser pressure is 8 kPa. The turbine and pump have isentropic efficiencies of 85% and 70%, respectively.
(a) Draw the schematic and T-s diagram of the cycle.
(b) Determine the thermal efficiency, in %.
(c) Determine the mass flow rate of steam, in kg/hour, for a net power output of 100 MW.
(d) Determine the mass flow rate of condenser cooling water, in kg/hour, if the cooling water enters the condenser at 15°C and exits at 35°C with negligible pressure change.
