I. Quasi-experimental Design Types
A. Instructions: For each scenario, name the design used in the study.
1. Scenario 1: In a large family gathering, Monica wanted to find out whether the exotic spice that she purchased online would make her food taste better. She cooked her family's favorite dish in one big pot. When it's almost done, she divided the dish into two small pots. In the black pot, she added the new spice. She did not add any additional ingredient in the silver pot. After cooking both pots for 3 more minutes, she gave the black pot to her in-laws and the silver pot to her own family. She asked all her guests to taste and rate both dishes on the scale of 1 to 10. The table below outlines the design using "O" (assessment) and "X" (treatment) notations.
Group Type | Group Name | Spice | Assessment
--- | --- | --- | ---
Experimental | Black pot (in-laws) | X | 0
Comparison | Silver pot (her family) | O |
