Identifying acids and bases
Identify if each of the substances, when dissolved in aqueous solution, acts as an acid (strong or weak), base (strong or weak), neither, or amphoteric. (At this stage, you should now be comfortable with naming and writing formulas. On an exam, you should also be able to write a chemical equation for the reaction that takes place in water, if any.)
sodium nitrate
magnesium hydroxide
ammonium bromide
sodium dihydrogen phosphate
perchloric acid
potassium cyanide
sodium acetate
