In an effort to reduce the turnover of Nurses, your hospital started a program to conduct exit interviews with all Nurses who voluntarily left the hospital. The primary purpose of the exit interviews was to determine specific reasons for leaving. During the exit interviews, Nurses were asked to do two things. First, they were asked to give their reasons (decision factors) for leaving. Most of the nurses gave multiple reasons for leaving. Next, each Nurse was asked to apportion 100 points among the decision factors that were instrumental in his/her resignation decision. This provided an index of how much each factor influenced the person's decision. Typical results for a single exit interview might look something like this:
