In the same study above, what are the appropriate null and alternative hypotheses to compare ages? a. H0: µ1= µ2 vs H1: µ1≠ µ2 b. H0: p1=p2 vs H1: p1≠p c. H0: µ=10 vs H1: µ≠10 d. H0: µd=0 vs H1: µd≠0

What is the best statistical test to use for comparing the average age and distribution of the ages of the respondents compared to a normal distribution of the data? I was thinking a one-sample t test, but not sure. I will have to compare ages with other variables later in the assignment, but need to generate some sort of distribution to analyze age. The age was reported in the survey by allowing respondents to type in their age in years, NOT recorded by age group. -I will be using IBM SPSS to run the statistical test.

A hypothesis test was conducted to investigate whether the population mean age of college students at Osler city is different from 22. a) This is a left-tailed test. two-tailed test. right-tailed test. half-way test. b) Select a correct formulation of the appropriate hypotheses: H0 : μ = 22 H1 : μ ≠ 22 H0 : μ ≥ 22 H1 : μ < 22 H0 : μ > 22 H1 : μ ≤ 22 H0 : μ ≤ 22 H1 : μ > 22 H0 : μ < 22 H1 : μ ≥ 22 H0 : μ ≠ 22 H1 : μ = 22
A hypothesis test was conducted to investigate whether the population mean age of college students at Osler city is less than 21. a) This is a right-tailed test. left-tailed test. two-tailed test. half-way test. b) Select a correct formulation of the appropriate hypotheses: H0:μ≤21H0:μ≤21 H1:μ>21H1:μ>21 H0:μ<21H0:μ<21 H1:μ≥21H1:μ≥21 H0:μ>21H0:μ>21 H1:μ≤21H1:μ≤21 H0:μ≥21H0:μ≥21 H1:μ<21H1:μ<21 H0:μ=21H0:μ=21 H1:μ≠21H1:μ≠21 H0:μ≠21H0:μ≠21 H1:μ=21
