Following conditions: Pressure 10 psi, Turbine speed: 1209 rpm, Pump speed: 2400 rpm, Torque: 30 in-oz, Flow rate: 5.0 cfm.
Calculate:
a) 10 points - pump head
b) 5 points - hydraulic power
c) 5 points - brake power
d) 5 points - efficiency
Temperature measurements were obtained using three thermocouples positioned inside the cylinder at different distances from the cylinder center. The result processing showed that temperature differences obtained with different thermocouples are insignificant, in the range of experimental error, which indicates the applicability of the lumped-heat-capacity theory. Figure 3 shows the experimental data fit of the logarithm of dimensionless temperature (n To-T).
The thermophysical properties of a cylinder: thermal conductivity: 429 W/m-K, specific heat: 235 J/kg-K, density: 10500 kg/m.
Determine:
a) 10 points - heat transfer coefficient of a cylinder
b) 10 points - temperature of a cylinder after 10 min of cooling
