Life expectancy of men and women in the U.S. has greatly increased over the course of the 20th century. However, there are also currently lifestyle issues that are affecting life expectancy and quality of life today. One that is highly prevalent in the news is childhood obesity; another is vaping and tobacco use overall. What programs have helped prevent disease or injury? What are some other specific examples of lifestyle/behavior issues that are increasing our risk of premature death? How can we combat these issues through public health communication and education?
