Make 1000 BHI agar plates (from 2 part recipe) (each plate required 30mLs of agar). Please include all wet and dry reagents.
Added by Henry A.
Step 1
First, we need to calculate the total volume of agar needed. Since each plate requires 30mL of agar, for 1000 plates we will need 30,000mL or 30L of agar. Show more…

The recipe for making 1 L of LB medium for Agar Plates is 10 g Tryptone, 5 g yeast extract, 10 g sodium chloride, and 15 g agar. Calculate the amount of each substance if you are making 255 mL of LB media for agar plates.

If I need to prepare LB Agar (1% Tryptone, 0.5% yeast extract, 0.5% NaCl, 1.5% Agar) with antibiotics. Compute for each component needed to prepare 75 mL of LB Agar + 100 μg/mL Ampicillin; and 60 mL LB Agar + 50 μg/mL Kanamycin. Then also need to prepare 5 mL each of ampicillin (80,000 ppm) and kanamycin (30,000 ppm) antibiotic stock solution.

You are testing unpasteurized milk for the presence of bacterial contamination. Starting from the undiluted milk, you do serial dilutions as shown below, and plate 1.0 ml of each dilution on agar. If the undiluted milk contains 5 x 10^6 bacterial/ml, how many colonies would you expect to see on each plate? Undiluted original Sample 9 ml H2O Number of colonies on each plate (from left to right) Do you think standard plate counts are very accurate? Explain.
