These are really easy for people to mess up, so let me just give a good example of how this works.

Okay, so in stratified sampling, you have your population and you split it up based on some characteristic.

Okay, so say that you have a population of high school students, you would split them up based on grades, right? like 9th grade, 10th grade, 11th grade, and 12th grade.

And then you would take an srs from each one, right? a simple random sample from each one.

And that would be a stratified sample.
