00:12 So here, first let us first understand what are the analgesics.
00:16 Analgesics are the drugs that relieves pain by inducing into central nervous system or peripheral nervous system.
00:32 So the two analgesics that we have used that we will be studying in this video are ibuprofen and paracetamol.
00:40 So the structure of ibuprofen is like this.
00:42 Here we have a benzene ring ch2 and here we have two methyl group present like this.
00:48 Next we have here a methyl group and here we have carboxylic acid functional group.
00:56 Let us give the numbering to all the atoms.
00:58 So 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12.
01:12 So here it should be note and this is the 13.
01:15 So 13th one is the hydrogen.
01:16 So hydrogen has the sp hybridization is usually only s hybridization.
01:21 Next we will find out the hybridization for all the carbon atoms.
01:26 So carbon 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.
01:33 For carbon 1 we can here see that it is sp3 hybridized, 2, 3, 4.
01:38 All are sp3 hybridized and we know that sp3 hybridized species have 109 degree bond angle.
01:49 For 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9, for 5, 6, 7, 8 it is sp2 hybridized and for sp2 hybridized the bond angle is 120 degree.

02:15 For 9 and 10 both of these are sp3 hybridized and again the bond angle is of 109.
02:22 For 11th this is sp2 hybridized with the bond angle of 120 degree.
02:29 Oxygen here is sp3 hybridized and it is having a bond angle of 10 and let us now see this sigma bonds and the pi bonds.
02:48 To understand the sigma and the pi bonds we will draw the structure again.
