Because you are smart, you listened in to the “scheduling
department’s” conversations with people trying to make appointments
in the office. You know that on one shift (Shift A), the number of
people that want to make an appointment is approximately
31/hr. On another shift, (Shift B), the demand is 39/hr. Each
nurse costs $40.00/hr and can handle 7 patients per hour. Each
patient that waits cost the office $15.00/each. So, you have a
policy that the wait time is under 10 mins in the waiting room.
Having a short wait time also has benefits of getting better
ratings on various platforms.
