Part 1a. Describe the motion of an object moving horizontally.b. Describe what happens to how far an object falls vertically as time passes.c. How are the horizontal and vertical motion of projectiles related?d. Did your two coins hit the ground at the same time? Why did this happen? or Why did this not happen as predicted?
At a corner of the table, place a piece a coin or another small obiect.Hold a ruler behind it and a piece o
chalk or another coin on the end of the ruler, over the edge of the table.Give the ruler a sharp tap.The coin B on the ruler, left behind by its inertia, falls vertically. The coin A on the table has a horizontal
velocity. Record your observations about when the coins hit the ground (listening may be easier than seeing.)
HOLD'RULER HERE
GIVE SHARP TAP HERE
Alternate: This experiment can be done without the ruler by getting one coin to nudge the other off the table.
