The graph shows the number of cases per week of Zika, Dengue, and Chikungunya virus in Puerto Rico during the period from November 1,2015 to April $14,2016 .$ The same mosquitoes spread all three viruses. Did all three diseases show a similar pattern during this time period? Explain. (GRAPH CANNOT COPY)
1. Working with the short-lived fish Nothobranchius furzeri, researchers tested the effect of temperature on a variety of aspects of this animal's life. One aspect was how fast they would swim on average. Here are the data, indicating weeks after hatching. Kept at 22°C: - at 5 weeks – 5 cm/sec - at 7 weeks – 7 cm/sec - at 9 weeks – 8 cm/sec Kept at 25°C: - at 5 weeks – 3.5 cm/sec - at 7 weeks – 3 cm/sec - at 9 weeks – 2 cm/sec Put this information into the form of a graph. 2. Researchers in Norway studied the effects of different treatments on infections in cows. There were three groups of 20 cows each. Some received a placebo (control group), some received homeopathic treatment (herbal), and some received antibiotics. After a month of treatment, the percentage of reduction in signs and symptoms was used to determine efficacy of the treatments. The results were: - Placebo – 12.9 ± 12 - Antibiotic – 20.1 ± 12 - Homeopathy – 27.6 ± 10 Put this into the form of a graph. Is there a statistically significant difference among these results? 3. Here are the numbers of new COVID-19 cases/day in the USA for the recent past. May 24: 15,342 May 25: 24,938 May 26: 16,429 May 27: 19,680 May 28: 21,304 May 29: 18,123 May 30: 25,553 Put this into the form of a graph.

Exhibit Prevalence Rate. Addressing COVID-19 is a pressing health and social concern. A group of researchers from Stanford University conducted research in early April 2020 to measure the prevalence of antibodies to COVID-19 in the population of Santa Clara County. Essentially, their goal was to collect evidence of an immune response to the virus in the population, even in people with no symptoms or those who have already recovered from the disease. Their research generated a lot of interest because it would help the scientific community to gain insight into the true infection rate and answer questions about things like asymptomatic spread and how long antibodies last.
