Air was compressed (polytropic process) from $p_1 = 100$ kPa and $T_1 = 400$ K to $v_2 = 0.3971$ m$^3$/kg and $T_2 = 550$ K. The isentropic index of the gas and particular gas constant are 1.4 and 287 J/(kgK), respectively. Determine (a) missing parameters of the gas, (b) polytropic index of this process, (c) heat and work of this process per 1 kg of air, (d) change in specific entropy of the gas, if air can be treated as an ideal gas. Additionally, (e) draw the process on the p-v and T-s diagrams.
