9. Finally, students will apply power factor correction for typical loads in a residential
house. Assume that the system is a single-phase system operating at 220 V at 50 Hz.
• Estimate the load components, consumption and operating power factor.
• Second, model the house electric system using Multisim to estimate the voltage,
current and power factor values.
• Improve the power factor to 95% and will choose the proper capacitor size and
configuration.
10. Simulate the electric loads in a house with/without the power factor correction circuit and
report the voltage, current and power factors.
